friday's playlist

It has been weeks since I started discovering 'real music' and searching for new songs to play and replay. After days and days of 'googling' or 'youtube-ing', I quite now have a short list of favorites. So let's start with the song I heard from gossip girl.
1. Gotye's Somebody That I Used To Know - I fell in love with this song in contradiction to it's meaning which is obviously 'breakup'. What I like/love about it is the uniqueness and creativeness of the composition. For me, it's not always about the lyrics but I also consider the instrumental approach and how every element of the song were put together. The lines are indeed connotative and I love how it was sang. Wahh, I should stop myself from writing so many praises for this song. So period.
Some lines from the song:
You can get addicted to a certain kinda sadness
Like resignation to the end, always the end
So when we found that we could not make sense
Well you said that we would still be friends
But I'll admit that I was glad that it was over
Now and then I think of all the times you screwed me over
But had me believin it was always something that I'd done
But I don't wanna live that way
Reading into every word you say
You said that you could let it go
And I wouldn't catch you hung up on somebody that you used to know-oh-oh
And of course, the chorus:
But you didn't have to cut me off
Make it like it never happened and that we were nothing
I don't even need your love, but you treat me like a stranger
And that feels so rough

No, you didn't have to stoop so low
Have your friends collect your records
And then change your number
Guess that I don't need that though
Now you're just somebody that I used to know
2. Sucre's When We Were Young and Chemical Reaction - These two songs come from the newest album of Sucre named A Minor Bird. My favorites are damn gorgeous like their lead singer Stacy King. Her voice is incredible for she sings differently. I love the smoothness, kind of melodious style of her. I'm running out of adjectives here so just listen to her songs and give your own comment. :) #I'm not yet done listening to all the new songs so my current favorites will perhaps increase.
Parts from When Were We Young:
You say that you’re leaving
That your hands are only dust
And the boy loves you
Oh, he loves you so much
Oh, it won’t be easy
As you reach your final end
When our days are spent
And I watch you transcend
For the chorus part I'll get it from Chemical Reaction...
Who will brace me
From my painful, sudden fall
When we were young
I never had to worry
I never even cared
'Cause something always came my way
When we were young
I never was repeating
The sentiment again and again
Oh, something's gotta come my way

3. Iron and Wine's Each Coming Night - Remember the one of the Twilight movie hit songs? No, it's not Decode. It's the prom scene where The Flightless Bird of Iron and Wine played. Haha. Like the said song, Each Coming Night gives that nice feel that will make you crave for spring picnics and cold rainy days. It can go with any season. It constantly makes you calm and really appreciate what good music really is.
Lyrics, here it is..
Will you say to them when I'm gone
I loved your son for his sturdy arms
We both learned to cradle then live without
Oh oh oh oh
Live without
Oh oh oh oh
Live without
Will you say to me when I'm gone
Your face has faded but lingers on
'Cause light strikes a deal with each coming night
Oh oh oh oh
Coming night
Oh oh oh oh
Coming night

So there you have it. Now type in these songs on Youtube and hope you'll not get addicted. **Evil Laugh**Haha.

So there!
